It seems wherever you find good music, Jack is sure to make an appearance. Over the years, his whiskey has graced the stage with many well-known names. Well, at least, in spirit. Jack Daniel’s tie to music is a long one. And this story continues with the Jack Scouts. An initiative that is aimed to celebrating unique up and coming artists and giving them a platform to get their music heard just like Jack Daniel’s the man did.
Jack Daniel’s is looking for a fresh pool of talent to contribute to the South African Music scene. The 2017 Jack Daniels BoomTown at the Durban July will provide the stage once again to showcase up and coming artists who are creating their own authentic sounds and staying true to their craft. Jack Daniels is giving musicians an opportunity to play on the Jack Daniel’s Boomtown stage and to share the stage with established artists. Do you think you have what it takes?
Started in 2013, Jack Daniel’s Music Scouts was created to give a valuable platform to fresh, unsigned musicians and DJs across the country. Through collaborations with legendary music mentors such as Khuli Chana, DJ Ganyani, Spikiri, DJ Speedsta and T-Bo Touch – Jack Scouts has provided a stage to numerous exciting up-and-coming artists
Last year it was clear that it is not only Jozi that produces musical greats. KZN is fast becoming a creative hub, spawning musical kings and queens along the coast and evolving brand-new genres in the process. Selected by Jack Daniel’s to perform on the coveted Jack Daniel’s SoundCity stage last year at the Vodacom Durban July last year, Breeze, DJ Wobbly and Nelz have since been making waves with their stellar skills.
Their successful run last year has paved the way for a new stage to open. This is an opportunity to perform to a crowd and demonstrate your skill, build your fan-base and further develop the next step in your own independent story – and we think Jack himself would approve.
