Kwesta’s Dakar II Earns Historic Platinum Status

Just off the back of winning six accolades at the recent South African Music Awards (SAMA23) hip hop rapper and songwriter, Kwesta, has reached two highly significant milestones as of today.  It has been announced this morning that Kwesta’s critically acclaimed DaKAR II album has officially been certified PLATINUM and subsequently his smash hit single Ngud’ featuring Cassper Nyovest has officially been certified quintuple (5 times) PLATINUM.

Kwesta’s momentous platinum milestones are an accumulation of hard work, resilience and consistency over the past decade. Having declared DaKAR II as his most important work to date, with the industry acknowledgement of his work and the tens of thousands of purchases of his music, is testament to the significance of the album not only to the rapper but for the South African music industry at large.

DaKAR II has had significant impact in the South African music culture since its release in February 2016. It has also opened up doors across the continent for Kwesta. Ngud’ off DaKAR II has also played a noteworthy role is bridging the gaps of music consumption in the country with its substantial crossover appeal to all demographics.
