Young and emerging stylist, Didintle Ntshudisane, has been selected as one of the 40 Emerging Creatives to showcase at the 2018 Design Indaba (DI) Festival. “Didintle is a creative stylist who believes in expression through clothes. The 22 year-old who left Lisof in 2017 while studying Commercial Fashion Studies is now taking over the styling world” as written on the DI website.
Didintle who was part of ‘Wonderverse’ – an experimental fashion film and photo series in which she was the creative mind behind the styling and costumes has also style look books and fashion editorials including the most recent GQ Style SA cover. This fashion editorial was featured in a couple of publications locally and internationally.
Her exhibition for this year’s festival is a surprise but she does say it will comprise of some of her released and unreleased creative styling work. In her work she hopes to shine a light on styling as a creative process as it can be often overlooked. “Due to the size of the DI platform, it means I’ll get to strongly highlight the role and significance of fashion stylists in the wider industry, as cultural gatekeepers, storytellers, talent-spotters and curators of ideas.”
Didintle adds that she is “looking forward to the exhibitions of fellow emerging creatives, local film premiers and hopes to walk away with an expansion of knowledge and inspiration from different mediums of art.”
