In pursuit of innovating the most-advanced smoke-free products for adult smokers, Philip Morris International (PMI) has introduced the latest addition to its heat-not-burn product portfolio, IQOS 3 DUO, featuring its fastest and most powerful holder within the IQOS family to date.
In celebration of the launch we are offering a new colour, “Sunset Copper’ for a limited time as well as the existing colour varieties of white, gold, blue and grey,” says Zimbini Peffer, Marketing Director at Philip Morris South Africa. “The new copper collection is a combination of style and tech made personal.”
IQOS 3 DUO is designed with new features to help adult smokers switch from cigarettes more seamlessly. Featuring the fastest and most powerful holder within the IQOS family, IQOS 3 DUO allows two consecutive uses without recharging the holder, while the holder charging time is much faster1 compared to previous models.
“The award-winning tobacco heating system offers a cleaner way of enjoying real tobacco with no smoke, no ash and less smell,” Peffer says. “IQOS heats tobacco instead of burning it, so consumers can enjoy real tobacco taste and satisfaction, with 95 per cent less harmful chemicals compared to cigarettes.” Peffer goes on to caution that this does not necessarily equal a 95% reduction in risk and that the best choice for a smoker is to quit altogether.
PMI has made a commitment to a smoke-free world and has set a goal that by 2025, 40-million cigarette smokers will switch to smoke-free products. “It is with this in mind, we need to ensure we continue to remain on-trend and innovate to deliver products that adult smokers find compelling enough to quit cigarettes,” says Peffer.
“Copper as a trend has been at the forefront of design in 2019 and has been the celebrated colour of the year,” she explains. “IQOS is a high-tech device, but the cool aluminium touch, combined with the warm colour conjures up the vibes of the more personal tools of yesterday.”
“The colour provides a warm, rustic feel, while the metallic aspect adds a balance of modernity,” she explains. ”While most design trends come and go, the popularity of copper in design has reached stratospheric heights.” She says that according to design aficionados this copper trend, which originated from fashion accessories, has in recent months moved into the home décor and design space and is a trend that is set to stay.
To date, more than 12.5 million adult smokers globally choose IQOS, of which over 70 per cent have abandoned cigarettes and switched completely to IQOS. This is the result of more than 10 years of development by a team of over 400 leading scientists, engineers and experts at PMI and USD$6 billion investment in PMI’s growing portfolio of advanced smoke-free products.
