Muzi’s Zeno Album Scores SAMA26 Nomination

On Wednesday, 15 July, the South African Music Awards announced their nominees for the annual awards show which will be happening virtually this year from 3-7 August. Artist, MUZI was recognised by SAMA judges and nominated in the Best Alternative Album category for ‘ZENO’. This comes after a highly successful year for the artist who released the anticipated album on October 11, 2019 worldwide through !K7/WE.THE.BUNDU.

The album is a presentation of a new level in the artist’s unmistakable brand of modern African music. ‘ZENO’ was written, recorded and produced while on tour in the US, UK and EU. The album’s sonics reveal the direct influence of his Kwa-Zulu Natal upbringing. Having soaked up the sounds of the 80s and 90s, he now expertly blends together cutting edge urban and electronic music with local genres like Maskandi, Kwaito, Iscathamiya and South African Bubblegum Pop of the 80s and 90s.
