Inspired by the spirit of Downtown NYC, the energy of the Riot Grrrl movement, and early 90s subcultures, MadeMe is a brand that champions a by-girls for-girls style that deviates from the male-dominated sportswear market. Converse and MadeMe have now teamed up for a capsule collection that merges MadeMe’s inimitable cool-girl style with the iconic One Star of Converse. The rave-inspired, elevated platform take on the One Star exudes individuality, emanates girl-power vibes and emboldens creative independence for this limited edition range.
As the creative director of MadeMe, Erin Magee has a way of channelling bygone eras of youth culture with the right amount of nostalgia and a little bit or irreverence. Since its debut in 2007, the NYC- based brand has reimagined borrowed-from-the-boys wardrobe staples for today’s evolved, alternative female youth. Basically, style for revolutionary girls.
The collection is comprised of four One Star Platform silhouettes available in plush suede or wide- wale corduroy, with a premium leather lining. Branding includes a tonal moulded star along the front foxing of the sneakers, along with a MadeMe logo printed on the lateral foxing. The sneakers also come with an alternative pair of MadeMe logo laces for extra styling.
