Instax SA recently invited guests to test out its latest models in the super trendy line of instant film cameras and printers. The fun-packed affair took place at Morningside; Sandton’s elegant Quatermain Faircity Hotel. Guests were welcomed at the hotel’s grand English country home-style outdoor reception while having photographs taken by the crew from RTC Studios, the brainchild of Forbes Africa 30 under 30 class of 2019 and celeb fave photographer, Austin Malema.

Drinks flowed whilst an A-list of celebrities, influencers and creatives casually socialised on the hotel lounging deck. They were introduced to and got to experience the brilliantly fun and newly launched Instax Mini LiPlay; a camera and mobile printer that features a preview screen and filter options, allowing users to edit photos before printing. It also sports an audio recording and genius QR-code-based playback system.

Guests mingled as they enjoyed both the in vogue copper instant film frame wall and the gorgeous wall of blooms set up on the lounging deck. Both set up to function as a selfie station and photo booth; with the indigenous garden, lawn greenery serving as a picturesque backdrop.

Next guests were ushered into the banqueting room where they took great delight in Dinner Time Stories, an international phenomenon that has made its way to South Africa for the first time. The hi-tech and inventive dining extravaganza is based around the culinary exploits of a 58mm tall Le Petit Chef following the route of Marco Polo.

Guests captured the magical journey of discovery filled with gastronomical delights, awe-inspiring scenery and mind-boggling technology on their smartphones and were able to instantly print their snaps, thanks to the Instax Mini Link Smartphone Printer. The compact printer allows users to edit photos from your smartphone with ease. Guests who linked to the printer were able to test and experience the Link’s continuous high-speed printing. They could further enhance and add super stylish finishes to prints by choosing from 27 fun frame designs, fourteen collage styles, and three split styles which divide one photo into multiple frames.
