The uncles are at the gate to negotiate a bride price in Netflix’s latest rom-com, Lobola Man, which debuts on service on 12 July 2024. The chief negotiator is silver-tongued Ace Ngubeni (Lawrence Maleka), a shapeshifter masquerading as a brother, cousin and uncle as part of his elaborate ‘professional’ lobola negotiation services. With a 100 per cent success rate, Ace follows a single rule: never get attached to the bride and her family! 

While Ace is in the business of love, he is a self-centred bachelor who questions its very existence. On a night out, he falls for a dazzling woman. Trying to forget about her, Ace takes on a new client, Duke Maseko (Sandile Mahlangu), who enlists his help with the lobola negotiations for his girlfriend Zandile (Kwanele Mthethwa).
