The Best Drive on YFM, with DJ Sabby and Altovise Lawrence, scooped an exclusive interview with Swedish singer and songwriter, Snoh Aalegra. DJ Sabby and Altovise interviewed the star Snoh Aalegra via a Zoom call. She began her career in 2014 with the release of her debut single ‘Bad Things’ featuring Common. 2017 saw Snoh released her debut album titled ‘Feels’, then in 2019, she released her second album, ‘Ugh, Those Feels Again’.
In a series of Q&As with Sabby and Altovise, Snoh got to open up about a lot of topics, notably, the below:
The name Snoh started out as a nickname that she turned into a stage name, as well as a legal name. She writes from her truth, Snoh says it’s her story and it’s great to know that people relate to her music, it’s really beautiful.
She is always careful with who she surrounds herself with, her team is her family. She mentioned that it does get lonely sometimes and one sometimes doesn’t know who one can trust, the bigger they get. She’s not scared to experience life and new people, she’s just more aware. Although she’s an introvert, she loves people.
Her life right now looks different because of the pandemic, she is fortunate that she can still go to the studio and record. Compared to her material before, Snoh says her energy was different when she made the album ‘Ug, Those Feels Again’, she was in a happier place and a more positive person.
She is a very private person so you get to know her more through her music, it’s a contrast. The Best Drive, known for its exclusive interviews, launched International Mondays.
