AFROPUNK is an influential community of young people of all backgrounds speaking through music, art, film, lifestyle sports, fashion, photography, and more. Influencers, creatives, and tastemakers who were once seen as outsiders, but who now directly affect pop culture.
For over 15 years, AFROPUNK has been defining culture in the music world; a triumph of multiculturalism and diversity for people of all races, genders, colours, creeds and tastes. “We’re so proud to be coming to Joburg at the amazing Constitution Hill on December 30-31.” The first Joburg adventure will be mixing homegrown and global talent from the worlds of music, art, culture, food and style.
Headlining the festival will be the Grammy Award-winning Solange Knowles. The Cranes in the Sky singer will be belting out tunes from her recent and most popular album, A Seat at the Table, as well as hits from some of her previous work.
The lit lineup includes; Laura Mvula, King Tha vs Blk Jks, Theo Parrish, The Brother Moves On, Spoek Mathambo, Black Motion, Gods Sons & Daughters, OKZharp & Manthe Ribane, DJ Lag, Urban Village, Nakhane Toure, Nonku Phiri and TCIYF.
The theme for this year’s festival is “We The People” and tickets for the event range from R400 -R900 and you can get them HERE, the plan is to end the year in style on December 30 and 31.
