Week 3 of Women’s Month and I’m still enjoying an all-female inspired playlist. Today has been one hella productive day and I feel good about the rest of the week. So, I hope you will enjoy this week’s music selection, featuring the badass females of the music industry in no particular order.
1. Bucie – Ngicelindoda
This was actually inspired by a conversation I had with a friend this past weekend, we were discussing some of our failed attempts at relationships and old hook-ups, and what to look out for in a potential partner. She laughed at me when I showed her the list I keep on my phone’s notepad called “My future lover is…”. I’m actually proud of that list because it prevents me from wasting time by going in a relationship with someone who doesn’t have the same intentions and hopes as I do. So ladies, I hope Bucie’s ‘Ngincelindoda’ will inspire you today to make your own list or set your standards and stick by them no matter what.
2. Babes Wodumo – Wololo
Babes Wodumo has been trending all over my Instagram lately. A lot of people have been sharing selfies, taken with Babes Wodumo (at a gig she was performing at etc.) and general consensus is that she is actually quite cool, one post said, “she is the most humble and friendly celebrity ever”. I like it when our celebrities behave like that.
3. FKA twigs – Papi Pacify
This was released in 2013, from FKA twig’s second EP and it’s still one of my favourite tunes till this day. The sexy, slow and sensual beats, the video, the touching and embracing of their bodies and skins…. ahh it’s just godly.
4. Ciara – Promise
This one reminds me of my first love, my high-school-sweetheart… I wonder what happened to that guy{LOL}? Remember back in the day when we were all trying to master Ciara’s dance routine in this video? Those were the good old days.
5. Rihanna – Needed Me
This one is my secong favourite from Rihanna’s new album, my first being Higher. I still don’t get how ladies call on Metro FM to #AskAman when this song carries all the answers.
